Francisco Pérez-Crespo has been a partner at Cuatrecasas since 2002.

He advises business groups on corporate matters, both on ordinary business activities and on acquisition and restructuring transactions. He is secretary of the boards of several listed and unlisted companies.

Before joining Cuatrecasas he was secretary-general of the Aceralia Group, participating in its privatization, flotation and European integration (1996–2002).

He has been a counsel for the state since March 1, 1988 (currently on leave). He served as deputy director of legal services for the Spanish tax authorities (1992–1996), and also worked in the state legal services for the High Court of Justice (1990–1992) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1988–1990).

He was a member of the special standing committee of the General Legislation Commission on insolvency reform (2009–2011), and contributed to writing a report and a draft bill on pre-insolvency reform, measures to make insolvency proceedings more efficient and the waiver of unpaid liabilities (2018–2021).

He was a member of the Taxpayer Defense Council (2007–2019).

He lectures in the Master on Business Insolvency at Universidad CEU San Pablo (Madrid) and the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE. Together with the other members of the firm’s Insolvency team, he also lectures in the Master in International Business Law organized by Wolters Kluwer Training. He regularly speaks at forums and institutions such as IESE Business School and Fide Foundation.
