Cuatrecasas advises French investment group on transferring 22 supermarkets in Spain to MDSR

Cuatrecasas has advised the real estate investment manager AEW, on behalf of a group of French investors, on the indirect sale of a portfolio of 22 supermarkets to the Israeli fund manager MDSR Investments. The supermarkets, with a total gross leasable area of approximately 110,000 m2, are located in several of Spain’s main cities, and 21 of them are leased to Carrefour.

The transaction was made possible thanks to a Cuatrecasas advisory team led by partner Hélène Baus (Corporate and M&A Practice, and coordinator of the French Desk) and counsel Silvia Alcoverro (Real Estate and Town Planning Practice), including the participation of Corporate lawyers Carlota Barrio, Carmen Baamonde and Antonio Mira. The Cuatrecasas team aligned the French and Spanish practices, helping the seller to disinvest in an orderly fashion and with the appropriate guarantees.
