Sofia Alves

Sofia Alves advises on crossborder M&A transactions, partial and total acquisitions,  joint ventures, and shareholders agreements in several sectors including media, retail, health and transportation. She also handles corporate restructuring.

Before joining Cuatrecasas, Sofia worked in the corporate and M&A practice of another law firm in Portugal.

She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association.

She was a guest lecturer in the course Fundamentos de Direito Civil e Direito das Pessoas (Fundamentals of Civil and Personal Law) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa for two consecutive years.

She is author and co-author of many specialized articles covering a range of topics, including shareholders agreements, family-owned businesses and directors’ liability in subordinated companies.
