Juan Carlos Puentes advises financial and multilateral institutions, sponsors, export credit agencies and public sector companies on national and international structured and project finance transactions.
He has also advised on some of the most complex, significant and larger-scale transactions involving energy projects, roads, mass transit systems, ports, airports, official buildings, social infrastructure and telecommunications. He has handled transactions regarding fintech, portfolio and acquisition financing and structured debt, as well as debt restructuring and distressed debt transactions.
Before joining Cuatrecasas, he worked at leading law firms in Colombia, New York and Tokyo. He is admitted to practice law in Colombia and New York.
He has lectured on corporate finance at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá.
