SubscribeThe amendments made by Decree-Law 25/2024 of April 1 are as follows:
- Beneficiary entities of services provided under a services agreement by culture professionals with organized accounting, who already have to inform the Inspectorate General of Cultural Activities (IGAC) of the agreement, must now also inform the Authority for Working Conditions;
- Entities involved in the mere intermediation or collective management of copyright are expressly excluded from the definition of beneficiary entity for the purposes of the Statute and the definition of contracting entity for social security purposes;
- The contributory rate for these professionals on very short-term employment contracts is reduced from 37.1% to 35.4%, while maintaining the 26.1% borne by the employer but reducing the employee's burden to 9.3%;
- The contributory rate for self-employed workers is reduced from 25.2% to 21.4%, with the contributory rate borne by the beneficiary entity remaining at 5.1%;
- The formula for calculating the guarantee period for access to the cultural activity suspension allowance has been changed and access to this allowance will now be easier.
