In International Commercial Arbitration, please do not underestimate Procedural Order #1

For many decades, clients have been told that arbitration is a faster and cheaper way of resolving disputes, but current statistics are less than convincing.  In our practical tip, we aim at providing a checklist of points that could help you improve time and cost management in your arbitration. We highly recommend that you raise and discuss critical procedural issues with the arbitrators as soon as possible, specifically, at the case management conference when discussing Procedural Order #1 (“PO1”).
