Paula Álvarez advises national and international clients on technology projects including artificial intelligence, software, internet platforms, ecommerce, metaverse, and other disruptive technologies and cryptoassets. She is an expert in consumer and user issues, R+D, intellectual and industrial property rights, image rights and data protection.
She also handles the drafting and negotiating of (i) commercial contracts, (ii) intellectual property (IP) assignment and licensing agreements, and (iii) technology contracts. She advises on corporate transactions, particularly focusing on the legal analysis, protection, licensing and transfer of databases and other intangible assets, including trademarks, patents, designs and IP rights. She also advises on an ongoing basis on advertising in the field of social media.
She has participated in important company projects in various sectors, including technology, biotechnology, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, textile and sports.
She is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association and the Association of Young Lawyers or AIJA.
She is the author of several articles and publications in her specialty area.
