Focusing on corporate and transactional law, particularly advising national and foreign companies on M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances; also advising on maritime, navigation and port law.
Javier Rodríguez advises national and foreign companies on corporate law, M&A, joint ventures and financing transactions. He has participated in many transactions, representing Mexican and foreign investors from different industries.  He has also advised many companies on corporate affairs such as incorporation, transformation and corporate restructuring. His practice includes advising on financial, corporate, contractual and regulatory matters related to M&A transactions, including matters involving regulated entities.

Also focusing his practice on the maritime and port industry, he has in-depth knowledge of maritime law, and also advises on commercial and procedural matters, and transactions relating to hydrocarbon exploration and extraction. His experience in the industry includes maritime transport, licenses and permits, negotiating charter parties, supply and agency contracts, international sales, ship operation, incoterms and logistics. He advises on pre-litigation and litigation matters and participates in international arbitrations (claims handling), as well as on registering ships and naval vessels.  

Before joining Cuatrecasas, he worked for leading law firms specializing in corporate and transactional law.
He is a member of the Spanish and Mexican maritime law associations.
