In foreign investment in Spain, Andrés Sánchez handles both private and public M&A ,and advises foreign groups on setting up in Spain. He has also advised Spanish groups on M&A transactions abroad and on setting up abroad. He has advised on restructuring Argentinean, Brazilian, Colombian and Mexican groups into Spanish holding companies, as well as advising European, US and Asian groups on investing in Latin America.
Andrés Sánchez is an expert in projects. He has advised on the high-speed train connection between Spain and France and led the tax team advising on building the gas pipe between Spain and Algiers (Project Medgaz).
He also has in-depth knowledge of transfer pricing (e.g., reorganizing the value chain, litigation matters and preparing documents) and ample experience in advising the holders of large estates on tax issues, having handled high-profile cases over tax residence in the Spanish courts.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
He lectures in the Master in Legal and Tax Consultancy at the CEF Center for Financial Studies and the IE Business School, and lectures on tax law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
He regularly participates in and speaks at seminars on international taxation.
He also writes for Spanish and foreign publications and has coordinated the collective work Comentarios a la Ley del Impuesto sobre la Renta de No Residentes (Comments on Non-Resident Income Tax Act ), Aranzadi, 2003.
