Cuatrecasas advises Partners Group on the sale of Hotel Barcelona 1882 to Union Investment
Cuatrecasas has advised the Swiss investor Partners Group on selling
the share capital of Hotel Barcelona 1882, owned by the hotel’s
parent company, to the German fund manager Union Investment.
Partners Group bought the four-star, 182-room hotel from a company
managed by Meridia Capital in 2019. This transaction has allowed the
Swiss company to recover its investment.
Union Investment acquired the hotel on behalf of real estate fund
UniImmo Europa and signed a 25-year lease agreement with the
Radisson Hotel Group. With the transaction closed, the centrally
located hotel in the Catalan capital is now part of this major hotel chain and
has been renamed Radisson Blu Barcelona Sagrada Familia.
Cuatrecasas advised the seller throughout the transaction with a
large multidisciplinary team, led by lawyers Juan Grima and Raimundo Segura.
