The secretary of state for digital advancement is preparing the draft bill of the Act to promote the startup ecosystem. To do so, it has opened a consultation for submissions of proposals to boost the startup ecosystem, with the goal of making Spain an “entrepreneurial nation” at the cutting edge of European business, job creation and sustainable economic growth.

We share the paper that Cuatrecasas sent to the Ministry for the Economy and Business in response to the consultation. It contains 30 legislative proposals we consider necessary to support and boost entrepreneurs in Spain. They include commercial, tax, employment and social security-related proposals, oriented towards the goals we consider most important: to promote investment in the growth stages of startups, to capture and retain talent, and to eradicate or streamline bureaucracy, as well as other improvements to corporate law to give investment into startups more legal certainty.
