Another Cuatrecasas summer internship program finished recently in which thirteen undergraduate and master's law students joined the firm's Lisbon and Porto offices for a three-week professional experience placement.

The summer interns were 3rd and 4th year undergraduates and 1st year master's students from institutions such as the Universidade de Lisboa Law School, the Universidade Nova Law School, the Universidade Católica Lisbon Law School, the Universidade Católica Porto Law School and Universidad CUNEF in Madrid. They were integrated into the departments of Banking & Finance and Capital Markets, European and Competition Law, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Real Estate and Town Planning, Labor, Litigation and Arbitration, White Collar Crime, Public, Intellectual Property, and Corporate and M&A.

The welcoming session took place on July 8 in Lisbon and was attended by Cuatrecasas’s managing partner in Portugal, Nuno Sá Carvalho, the members of the Intern Recruitment Committee, partners Pedro Vidal Matos and Rafael Lucas Pires, as well as partner Martim Anahory and the heads of Knowledge and Innovation, and Human Resources in Portugal, Mónica Teixeira André and Leonor Vila Luz, respectively. In this session, the internship program was presented and its objectives explained.

The summer internships aim to give law students their first glimpse of the reality of an international law firm and the day-to-day life of a lawyer, giving them the opportunity to come into contact with real cases.
