San Martín Contratistas Generales secures syndicated loan under New York law

Cuatrecasas has advised San Martín Contratistas Generales on securing a syndicated loan under New York law and letters of guarantee for up to USD 125 million, backed by a guarantee package under Peruvian law.

This transaction has enabled the company to cancel existing loans in its debt reprofiling process and secure resources to finance the issuing of letters of guarantee, which in turn will ensure its mid-term investment goals.

Finance partner Aldo Reggiardo, who led the advisory services, said: “We are very happy and grateful for having had the opportunity to advise San Martín Contratistas Generales on the structuring and implementation of a complex syndicated financing transaction under New York law, backed by multiple guarantees under Peruvian law. This transaction has taken over half a year from its legal structuring to its closing and payment, and will enable San Martín Contratistas Generales to continue developing its investment plans and continue growing in the mine construction industry, maintaining an important position of leadership in that market.”
