SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised concessionaire Ruta al Sur S.A.S. and sponsors Patria Investments and Mercantil Colpatria on the financing of over USD $650 million received to design, build, operate, maintain and renovate the Santana-Mocoa-Neiva highway concession.
This is one of the most significant financial closings for highway infrastructure in Colombia. It not only ensures the funds required for building and maintaining this strategic project in the region, but also aims to improve connectivity, encourage economic development, increase road safety and promote regional integration. It is a complex financing structure involving two jurisdictions: Colombia and the US.
Manuel Quinche, managing partner of Cuatrecasas’s Bogotá office said: “Congratulations to the teams at concessionaire Ruta al Sur, Patria Investments and Mercantil Colpatria, for having reached this important milestone. We are proud and honored to have participated in one of the country's biggest financial closings, demonstrating the hard work and dedication of all involved in the project. This financing is fundamental for demonstrating the transformative power of infrastructure in the south of the country.”
The Cuatrecasas advisory team was made up of lawyers Manuel Quinche, Natalia Arango, Manuela Gaitán, Marcos Díaz and Nicolás Villaneda (Project Finance), Álvaro Rueda and Juan Camilo Rangel (Exchange), and Ana María Sánchez (Infrastructure).
