SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised CaixaBank on the financing to build, develop and operate the Excellence Playa Mujeres Hotel on the Mayan Riviera, through granting a $100 million loan to the Mexican company Hotelera Playa Mujeres.
The financing comes with the usual guarantees in this type of transaction, including a mortgage on the hotel. The sustainability-linked loan includes indicators such as sustainability training for employees and a percentage of the waste being sent to a landfill.
With this transaction, CaixaBank strengthens its presence as a financial institution in the luxury hotel sector in Mexico.
