SubscribeThe Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB), presided by economist Martí Parellada, and Cuatrecasas have signed an agreement in which the law firm will cooperate with the research program in Tax Systems Analysis.
The objective of the program—led by Alejandro Esteller-Moré, IEB researcher and professor in public economics at the University of Barcelona—is to promote high-quality research in the field of taxation, with an emphasis on empirical research and the analysis of the Spanish tax system, to generate socially useful knowledge in this field.
According to Professor Esteller-Moré, the agreement with Cuatrecasas will “promote cooperation between the academic world and that of tax professionals, which is essential to conduct research with social impact.”
The cooperation with Cuatrecasas will also boost other regular activities, such as the IEB Tax Forum, as well as carrying out new activities in this field. Cuatrecasas partner Álvaro Escuder underlines in this regard that “our cooperation with the IEB, in such an important and topical subject as taxation, reinforces the social aspect of our entity. We are convinced that the link we have established is going to be very fruitful for the general public.”
