Miguel Cruz is an expert in Spanish and international securitization transactions and debt security issues, including corporate bonds, project bonds and high-yield bonds.
He also has extensive experience in Spanish and international corporate and real estate financing, including refinancing and debt restructuring. He frequently advises financial funds and institutions on buying and selling interests in syndicated loans and on acquiring non-performing loan (NPL) portfolios.
In 2010, he was seconded to the legal department of Aareal Bank AG, in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he advised on real estate transactions and refinancing. From 2011 to 2012, he worked at Cuatrecasas’s London office where he participated in several international transactions.
From 2014 to 2017, he lectured on “The practice of law: functions, powers, duties and office management” in the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law, at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
He regularly speaks at training courses and seminars organized by the Universidad Pontificia Comillas–ICADE, Universidad CEU and AFI Escuela de Finanzas. He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
