María Xiol drafts internal templates and standards aimed at guaranteeing the highest quality and efficiency of the firm’s advisory service. She leads projects aimed at improving and innovating internal procedures and the application of new technologies, and has specific training in technology skills for lawyers. She also contributes to designing the internal and external training plans for the firm’s lawyers.
Having joined Cuatrecasas in 2006, she has extensive experience in advising and representing clients in national and international court and arbitration proceedings, particularly concerning contract law. She has participated in many disputes arising from company sales transactions, real estate asset sales, infrastructure and construction transactions, and service provision contracts. With her in-depth civil law training, she advises clients on particularly complex disputes from both a contractual and legal perspective.
In 2010, she completed a Master of Laws (German Law) at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and was seconded to the litigation department of German law firm Noerr LLP in Berlin. Thanks to her training and experience in German law, she is a member of the firm’s German Desk.
She has a strong background in lecturing on contract law and procedural law at universities such as IE University and ISDE Law & Business School, as well as giving internal courses at Cuatrecasas.
