Mª José Guillén handles transactions to buy and sell shares, assets and liabilities; and advises on the opening and closing the branches of Spanish and foreign companies, corporate contracts, all types of corporate restructurings, the dissolving and winding up companies, and corporate disputes.
She is a member of Cuatrecasas’ German Desk, and of its Life Sciences Group. She advises several task forces made up of Spanish and foreign companies and the owners of registries responsible for creating and marketing plant protection products and fertilizers worldwide. She advises clients on registering their products with the Spanish authorities and any related legal matters, e.g., collaboration agreements, supply and distribution contracts, and letters of access. She also advises companies on the EU REACH Regulation.
She is a member of the German-Spanish Jurists Association, of the Association of Business and Professional Women of Valencia, and of the Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia (where she specializes in the agro-food industry). She is secretary non-director of the boards of directors of several companies, advising on corporate and contractual matters.
She has been part-time associate lecturer in private international law at Universitat de València. She is an associate lecturer of commercial law at Universidad Católica de Valencia. She has also lectured at EDEM Business School, Centro Universitario Fundación Estema and at IFAES International Faculty For Executives. She collaborates with iiR España, giving courses and talks on registering agrochemicals.
