Specialist in international commercial arbitration, particularly in the construction, infrastructure and energy industries, as well as in court proceedings in support and control of arbitration.

Lucía Montes represents and advises clients in relation to international commercial arbitration. She is an expert in particularly complex disputes, from both a technical and economic perspective. She has represented clients in over 50 arbitration cases involving large international projects, mainly in Latin America and the Middle East. She also regularly advises on court proceedings related to arbitration, both in her jurisdiction as well as coordinating crossborder actions and actions involving many jurisdictions.

Lucía acts regularly as an arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings and is on the list of arbitrators of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre.

She is a member of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club’s Scientific Committee, as well as a member of the Advisory Committee to the Madrid Bar Association’s Construction and Engineering Law Section.

She lectures on arbitration in the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and in the Master in Construction Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICAM.

She is the author of publications in her area of specialty and speaks at Spanish and international conferences.

She is a member of the Cuatrecasas Pro Bono Committee.
