Carlos Lasarte de Launet is an expert in financial transactions, particularly in project financing (real estate, energy and infrastructures), acquisitions financing, and corporate finance in Spain, Latin America and North Africa.
He is also an expert in advising financial institutions and corporations on restructuring, and debt refinancing, as well as in debt assignment transactions, including buying nonperforming loan (NPL) portfolios.
Since joining Cuatrecasas in 2006, he has mainly worked at the Madrid, Bogotá and Lima offices, in cases with a strong international component. He led the opening of the Lima Office and has been its co-director until 2022. He has advised many companies on their transactions in Peru and Colombia and has an in-depth knowledge of the Latin American market.
He lectures in the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and on project financing and refinancing from a legal perspective at Analistas Financieros Internacionales.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (2006).
