SubscribeOn September 2, Cuatrecasas launched a new edition of its Welcome Program, greeting 14 recent law graduates, some of whom are master’s students. These trainee lawyers aim to join the Portuguese Bar Association and, in turn, begin their careers at the Lisbon and Porto offices. Over several weeks, they will participate in various in-person and online training sessions and team-building activities. This initial stage of the traineeship at Cuatrecasas aims to introduce them to the workings of a large international law firm and provide context for the practice of law in Portugal.
On the first day, the trainees attended a welcome session with Nuno Sá Carvalho, Cuatrecasas’s managing partner in Portugal; the members of the Trainee Recruitment Committee; partners Pedro Vidal Matos, Rafael Lucas Pires and Rui Vaz Pereira; and Leonor Vila Luz, head of Human Resources in Portugal.
These trainee lawyers graduated from the faculties of law of Universidade de Lisboa, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Universidade Católica - Lisbon School, Universidade Católica - Porto School, Universidade de Coimbra, and Universidade do Minho.
Their first rotations will be in the following practice areas: Banking & Finance and Capital Markets, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Tax Litigation, Real Estate and Town Planning, Labor, Intellectual and Industrial Property, Public Law, and Corporate and M&A.
