SubscribeThe Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) has launched a new application for payment of clinical trial fees to ease the payment procedure, suppress transaction errors and decrease the need for corrections to applications.
- The traditional Fee Payment application of the AEMPS for telematic payments has been replaced by the ECMI portal, which is accessible through the AEMPS's electronic office where users can fill the form with the required details, including the developer's information, clinical trial data, the Research Ethics Committee for Medicinal Products and the type of application being submitted.
- Once the form has been completed, users have the option to proceed with the payment electronically or by downloading Form 317 for a bank transfer or a cash payment.
- The AEMPS has created a user manual to assist users with the transition to the new system and to simplify the payment process for clinical trial fees.
- The new payment procedure complies with Royal Legislative Decree 1/2015, of July 24, approving the revised text of the law on guarantees and rational use of medicines and medical devices, specifically with article 123, which sets out the fee structure for clinical research.
