Lisbeth Gárate advises on national and international litigation and arbitration under different applicable laws such as English, Peruvian and Spanish law and in various jurisdictions, including Lima, Madrid, Miami and New York, both in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations.
She advises on disputes involving civil property, and commercial and energy matters, and disputes involving construction law and public contracting with a significant technical aspect, in addition to advising on conflict prevention. This has enabled her to participate in advisory services related to the implementation of a series of national public interest projects.
Lisbeth also focuses on advising during the direct negotiation phase and on other dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation and settlement, as well as court proceedings for annulling and enforcing arbitration awards.
She completed a secondment in the international arbitration area of legal firm Uría Menéndez in Madrid and worked as an associate in Peruvian law firms Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría and Ferrero Abogados.
She is adjunt lecturer in the course Integration Seminar on Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
She is a member of the Lima Bar Association.
