Laia Valdespino advises on negotiations to prevent and resolve contractual disputes between companies in the energy (electricity and gas), banking, transport, telecommunications, building and mining sectors.
She also advises on strategies for administering contracts, including drafting legal reports and designing strategies for preventing and resolving contractual disputes.
She defends clients in court proceedings and in ad hoc and institutional arbitration proceedings administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
She worked as an associate at the Peruvian law firm Payet, Rey and Cauvi & Pérez Abogados.
She is a member of the Lima Bar Association.
She is an assistant lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in the courses “Commencement of Actions” and “Integration Seminar on Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law” (2019-2022).
She is currently studying the Expert diploma in witness evidence from the perspective of evidential legal reasoning and the psychology of testimony at Fundació Universitat de Girona, Spain and the Program specializing in international and investment arbitration at Universidad del Pacífico, Peru.
