José Miguel Gazitúa specializes in advising national and foreign clients from a wide range of sectors on tax matters. This includes advising on structuring transactions and investment projects from and into Chile, assisting clients with M&A processes of local and foreign companies, acquisitions of local and foreign businesses, project financing, handling the tax planning and reorganization of companies and business groups, as well as advising on tax matters on a regular basis.
He also advises on taxation for capital markets, and family and personal assets; and assists clients with tax inspections and the resolution of disputes with the internal revenue service, both in administrative and court settings.
Before joining Cuatrecasas, he was a director in one of the top four international auditing firms, and also worked as an associate at one of the leading law firms in Chile.
He is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the Chilean Bar Association (AG) and the Chilean Institute of Tax Law.
He lectures in postgraduate courses on taxation at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez in Chile.
