In recent years, João Mattamouros Resende has advised on company sales in the financial, distribution and technology sectors. He also advises clients on negotiating agreements for distribution and outsourcing, and for IT services provision.
He is qualified to practice in Portugal, Brazil (São Paulo), England and Wales (solicitor) and in New York (attorney and counselor at law). He is a member of the firm's German desk.
He is a member of the Harvard Club of Portugal. He has been an assistant lecturer at Universidade Católica Portuguesa since 2001. From 2011 to 2013, he was director of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil and, from 2000 to 2001, he was deputy officer at the Portuguese Ombudsman’s Office. He is a member of the the management committee of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
He is the author of the book A Imputação de Direitos de Voto no Mercado de Capitais (Assigning voting rights in the capital market), Universidade Católica Editora and contributed to the book Livro Branco sobre Corporate Governance em Portugal (White book on corporate governance in Portugal), Instituto Português de Corporate Governance.
