He has advised numerous national and international clients on commercial matters involving general EU, antitrust,merger control, state aid law, FDI and FSR matters.
Prior to joining Cuatrecasas, he worked in two leading global law firms in Spain, Brussels and Germany.
Enrique’s merger control practice covers difficult mergers in the air transport, retail banking, cement, healthcare (hospitals, fertility clinics), cruises, packaging and delivery, consumer goods, chemicals, food and telecoms sectors. Clients he has worked for include corporates such as Aon, Grupo Bimbo, Renault Group, HP, Sony, Solvay, Amadeus, Holcim, Novartis, ABB, Goldman Sachs, EADS, UPS, Carnival Corporation, Iberia, Air Berlin, Vueling and LATAM as well as private equity houses such as Cinven, CVC, KKR, Advent, Bridgepoint and Hellman & Friedman among others.
He has handled numerous Article 101 and 102 (and their Spanish equivalents) investigations for a large array of clients. In addition, he has advised extensively on State Aid issues in the banking sector.
Enrique has significant experience in Spanish foreign direct investment (FDI) matters before the Spanish authorities.
He serves as a non-Governmental advisor at the International Competition Network (ICN) on behalf of the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC).
Enrique lectures regularly on competition issues in LL.M programs in Spain and publishes regularly on competition issues.
