Companies have the month of March to assess their situation and use the new temporary redundancy procedures of the Labor Reform
Royal Decree-Law 2/2022, published on February 23, paves the way for companies that need to continue suspending employment contracts or reducing working hours through temporary redundancies (ERTE). If the difficulties affecting the company continue to be circumstantial, it is advisable to start the procedure as soon as possible in order to apply these internal flexibility measures, taking advantage of the extension of the COVID ERTE and its exemptions during the month of March. This month of transition will also serve the Government to foreseeably activate the RED Mechanism (a type of extraordinary ERTE) for the travel agency sector, which could be extended to other actors in the tourism sector.
Also, the minimum wage for 2022 has been set, at an amount of 1,000 euros per month for 14 payments.
