Cuatrecasas has advised Vidrala, a leading designer and manufacturer of glass containers, on entering into a power purchase agreement (“PPA”) with Acciona Energía for the supply of renewable energy. The deal will enable Vidrala to supply its operations in Spain and Portugal with clean electricity, all of which will be of 100% renewable origin from Acciona Energía's wind farms.

Thanks to this PPA, Vidrala will avoid the emission of 150,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere during the term of the contract. The company thus strengthens its pioneer position in sustainability in the glass industry, with its commitment to long-term sustainable energy solutions and progress toward a future for the industry that is cleaner and more respectful with the planet.

The Cuatrecasas advisory team was led by Regulated Sectors partner Alejandro Bonitch, assisted by Capital Markets lawyer Jaime Juan Rodríguez.
