Saica Natur finalizes agreement to acquire Ecovidal, leading waste management company in Madrid

Cuatrecasas has advised Saica Natur, S.L. (Saica Group) on acquiring Ecovidal (Miguel Vidal e Hijos, S.L.), a company engaging in waste collection and management, and the industrial warehouse where Ecovidal carries out its activity. This transaction will enable Saica Natur to reinforce its presence in Corredor del Henares, one of the most important business and industrial areas of the Madrid autonomous region. 

With an annual production capacity of 3.3 million tons of paper recovered from corrugated cardboard and a turnover of over €4.3 billion, Grupo Saica is a leading business group in Europe for the manufacture of recovered paper. Present in Spain, France , Italy, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Turkey, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and the USA, it carries out its activity in four business lines: Saica Paper, engaging in recovering paper from corrugated cardboard; Saica Natur, managing waste and environmental services; Saica Pack, producing corrugated cardboard packaging; and Saica Flex, producing flexible packaging. 

With a turnover of over €10 million, Ecovidal, usual supplier of Saica Paper, manages up to 53,000 tons of waste (mostly paper and cardboard) from its warehouse (16,000 m2) located in the Madrid town of Torrejón de Ardoz.
