JetSMART Airlines to start operating in Colombia with seven domestic routes

Cuatrecasas has advised JetSMART Airlines on the process of becoming a Colombian airline and the early sales launch and marketing of domestic routes in Colombia. The launch of the airline’s seven routes—with an ultra-low-cost business model that has been successful in other countries in the region—is a boost for the Colombian aviation market and improves passengers’ domestic and international flight connections.

The key to this achievement was JetSMART’s positive interaction with the Colombian authorities, particularly Civil Aviation, thanks to the Cuatrecasas team’s knowledge and experience of the country’s aviation regulatory procedures. This factor facilitated the airline’s certification process. In addition, Cuatrecasas guarantees the startup of operations in Colombia in compliance with all national and international regulations applicable.
