Alejandra Palacios joins Cuatrecasas as an external advisor to the Firm, based in the Mexico City office. With a notable career that includes serving as the first woman to chair Mexico's Antitrust Agency (COFECE) from 2013 to 2021, Palacios brings experience to strengthen Cuatrecasas's position, especially in competition law throughout Latin America.

During her tenure at COFECE, Palacios led a team of 450 professionals who handled unprecedented antitrust cases in the country. Under her leadership, the agency was recognized as one of the 15 leading competition agencies in the world. She also held the vice presidency of the International Competition Network (ICN), which brings together more than 130 competition agencies worldwide.

Alejandra Palacios holds a degree in Economics from ITAM, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA from ITAM, and a Master's in Public Administration and Policy from CIDE. She is currently a board member of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (NYSE: PAC; BMV: GAP), BBVA México, and Grupo Alfa (BMV: ALFAA).
