Banco Itaú Chile provides financing for Empresas Gasco’s innovative project

Cuatrecasas has advised Banco Itaú Chile on providing Gasco Solar Térmico (owned by Empresas Gasco) with financing for a project that involves the construction, startup and operation of a solar-thermal power generation system for Minera Escondida (owned by BHP).

The transaction, formalized with a strong direct agreement and a guarantee package, will enable Gasco to fund an important project that introduces sustainable, innovative technology in one of Chile’s largest mining companies. This is part of Empresas Gasco’s business strategy to lead the market as a sustainable energy solution provider, displacing polluting fuels through Gasco Minería, its new business unit.

The Cuatrecasas advisory team was led by partner Macarena Ravinet, together with partners Roberto Guerrero, Sebastián Leyton and lawyers José Agüero, Federico Espinosa, Magdalena Urquidi and Álvaro Caviedes.
