Alfonso Reina is an expert in advising multinational companies on transactions and corporate law matters with a strong international component. He regularly advises clients on transactions in the industrial, services, infrastructure and energy sectors in Spain and in Latin America. He also advises financial institutions such as banks, credit unions, investment services companies, insurers, venture capital firms and their management companies on commercial transactions.
He has participated in many transactions in Colombia and in Latin America and has extensive knowledge of the Latin American market.
Since joining Cuatrecasas in 2006, he has mainly been based at the Madrid office; from 2017 to 2021, he led the opening of the firm’s office in Bogotá and its operation. Before joining Cuatrecasas, he worked for six years in the M&A practice of an international law firm, where he advised national and international clients on transactions in the industrial, service and real estate sectors, and participated in important management buyouts (MBOs).
He has lectured on corporate law in postgraduate courses at ESADE Business & Law School in Barcelona. He regularly speaks at conferences and training courses on venture capital at various institutions, including the Spanish Association for Management Progress, iiR España and IFAES International Faculty for Executives.
