Cuatrecasas advises BTG Pactual on the financing of Chilean startups through an innovative investment structure

Cuatrecasas has advised BTG Pactual Chile on designing and implementing the structure of its first national investments through its Venture Debt Fund, which focuses on investing in Chilean startups and fintechs. The first three companies that have received financing are WildFoods, Buydepa and Wift.
The investment structure is based on granting each company a credit line, and the option to acquire a participation in their capital. This has been done through an innovative instrument in the Chilean startup ecosystem, through which companies are able to achieve higher valuations, without sacrificing equity, allowing founders to maintain control over their ventures.
The Cuatrecasas team of lawyers advising on the transactions was made up of Macarena Ravinet, Josefina Yávar, Franco Dalmazzo, Federico Espinosa, Ronny Vaisman, Tomás Montes, Pilar Illanes, Fernanda Paredes and Yael Schwartstein.
