Specializing in tax litigation and EU law, particularly in direct taxation and state aid.

Miguel Muñoz Pérez specializes in Spanish and EU taxation procedures. He advises national and international clients, representing them in tax audit procedures and litigating before various courts, including the Spanish Supreme Court and the EU courts.

As counsel for the state for over 13 years—currently on voluntary leave of absence—he handled over 100 cases as agent of the Kingdom of Spain before the Court of Justice of the European Union (“CJEU”) and the General Court of the European Union (“GCEU”) , as well as advising different government departments.

Previously, he was director of legal services at the former Spanish National Energy Commission, head of legal services of the Secretary of State for Finance, and a member of the legal advisory team of the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER).

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.

He lectures in the Master in EU Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and in the Master for Admission to the Practice of Law and to the Profession of Court Agent (dual degree) at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria. He also regularly participates in conferences and courses and is the author and co-author of various publications in specialized journals.
