Expert in the corporate, commercial and litigation practices

José Luis Ballester advises companies on national and international commercial matters, buying and transferring companies, corporate restructurings, corporate financing and refinancing, and commercial contracts. With over 23 years of experience in advising on corporate disputes, and lawsuits in civil and commercial courts, he also advises Spanish and multinational companies on corporate and contractual matters in international expansion processes.


He is also an expert in insolvency, out-of-court payment agreements and proceedings for relief from unpaid claims, having been appointed insolvency administrator for many important business groups by the commercial courts of Andalusia.


He is a member of the Tax Lawyers’ Group of the Seville Bar Association and of the boards of directors and regional councils of many associations, including ADACEM, CEDE and other regional councils linked to family businesses. He directs the corporate law studies, and lectures on corporate law and insolvency law, in the Master in Legal Consultancy for Businesses at the Instituto Cajasol.


He writes articles on corporate governance, directors’ liability, and corporate law and insolvency law and speaks regularly at conferences and seminars on his area of expertise at leading institutions and business schools, including San Telmo Business School.
