Joanes Labayen advises banks and private investors on complex investments, coordinating large teams and resources.
He started his career as counsel for the state, specializing in civil, criminal and administrative litigation. While counsel for the state, he gained extensive experience in complex litigation cases and in public law matters such public procurement, and mining, port and coast legislation.
In private practice, he is a member of the firm’s litigation team, acting as first-chair litigator in complex cases, particularly in the financial, real estate and construction sectors and in corporate disputes.
He also handles non-litigation aspects of the legal practice, mainly involving the financial and real estate sectors.
He acts as secretary and member of the boards of directors of several companies in Spain and abroad. In 2016, he became a member of the Cuatrecasas board of directors.
He is a member of the Body of Counsel for the State. For many years, he was a mentor at the Bergara center affiliated with the Spanish National Distance Education University.
