Specialist in real estate and construction transactions, and in international M&A transactions; practice focusing on crossborder transactions.

Gerard Hernández has participated in important and complex transactions in recent years to acquire real estate (mainly commercial and office premises, and hotels and touristic resorts) in prime locations in the main Spanish cities and in foreign cities (mainly Western Europe). He has also participated in commercial lease agreements (retail and office).

He also specializes in buying, selling and managing shopping centers, hotels and tourist resorts; establishing and expanding international distribution companies in Spain; and, on a corporate level, acquiring, merging, reorganizing and developing joint ventures of real estate, construction, hotel and energy companies and groups.

From 2015 to 2016, he was a partner at the Cuatrecasas Shanghai office. He advises Spanish and international companies on their investments in China, and Chinese clients on their investments in the Iberian Peninsula.

A member of the Barcelona Bar Association, he is also a member of the International Section of the American Bar Association and a regular speaker in its China, Asia Pacific and Real Estate Committees. He was a member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China while based at the Shanghai office.
