Alejandro Payá has advised on some of the most important transactions in different industrial and services sectors, as well as in regulated sectors such as finance and insurance, infrastructures, energy, pharmaceutics and biotechnology.
In 2015, he led the M&A case for which the firm received a Financial Times award as the most innovative law firm in the corporate and commercial category.
From 1999 to 2000, he was an international associate at a US firm in New York.
He is secretary of the boards of directors of several national and international groups.
He is admitted to the practice of law as an attorney in New York, and is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association (current Chair of the Closely Held Companies Committee).
A doctor of laws, he has lectured on commercial law at ESADE Business & Law School and lectures in the Master in Legal Practice at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He regularly speaks at different courses and conferences. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Barcelona Bar Association’s Master of Business Law.
He is the author of several publications and the co-author of collective works.
