Volume and value of M&A deals in Portugal decreased in 2021

Portugal has registered 64 crossborder deals in Portugal so far this year, with a total value of €3.5 billion, which means dealmaking is down 23.8% in volume and 66.3% in value (year to date) than in 2020 (full year), according to Mergermarket data.

Cuatrecasas advised three of the largest deals of the year in terms of value.

This data was released during the fourth edition of the Mergermarket Portugal M&A Outlook, hosted in the new Cuatrecasas auditorium, in Lisbon, on November 24, 2021.

150 senior delegates from corporates, private equity houses, banks and advisory firms attended the conference and gained insight into M&A opportunities, listening to speakers from Altice, Atena Equity Partners, Cuatrecasas, Datasite, Finerge, Greenvolt, KKR, Logoplaste, Marsh, Sonae and Tresmares Capital.
