Cuatrecasas has advised Votorantim Cimentos, owner of the Cosmos cement plant in Córdoba, on signing an agreement with HeidelbergCement—one of the world’s leading integrated producers of building materials and solutions—to acquire all its business in Andalusia.

With the sale of these assets, which include an integrated cement plant in Málaga, and 3 aggregate sites and 11 ready-mix plants in the Andalusian region, Votorantim Cimentos strengthens its business in Spain and creates significant synergies with its existing assets. The company currently has 5 integrated cement plants, 2 grinding stations, 1 mortar plant and several concrete and aggregate plants located in the regions of Andalusia, Canary Islands, Castile and León, Extremadura and Galicia.

The transaction remains subject to certain conditions, including approval by the Spanish regulatory authorities.
