Alcampo agrees to acquire 235 supermarkets from DIA Group

Cuatrecasas has advised  Alcampo  on its agreement with DIA Group to acquire 235 supermarkets and a logistics platform located in Villanubla (Valladolid). The total portfolio, located in several autonomous regions, covers a retail area of approximately 180,000 m².

This transaction marks another step forward for Alcampo in its multi-format and omnichannel growth in Spain and its progression to become the phygital leader of the food trade. The location of the acquired stores will complement Alcampo’s network of company-owned and franchised stores and will provide greater coverage of customers’ needs.

The transfer of this portfolio will start as soon as the suspensive conditions to the transaction are fulfilled (including approval by the competition authorities and waivers from financial institutions) and it will be carried out in groups of supermarkets across different dates. The transaction is expected to be completed by mid-2023.
