Cuatrecasas closes good year for transactions in energy and infrastructure sector

Cuatrecasas closed 2021 among the leading law firms handling operations in the international energy and infrastructure sector, according to rankings published by Inframation business platform. The platform analyzes energy and infrastructure market deals, including M&A, project finance and refinancing.

In a fiscal year marked by great activity, Cuatrecasas managed to improve its ranking in all its key regions compared to 2020, for both the value and volume of its transactions. Specifically, it is now ranked as the top 10 European law firm and top 11 worldwide for the number of closed commercial transactions.

Inframation ranks Cuatrecasas in second place for law firms according to the number of transactions closed in Spain in 2021, after the firm closed 31 transactions throughout the year. The firm moved up to third place in the transactions’ financial value, totaling $10,762 million by the year’s end. Cuatrecasas repeated the exact same Spanish rankings in Latin America where the firm closed 26 transactions totaling $9,802 million.

Once again, these results indicate that Cuatrecasas maintains its position among the most active law firms in commercial deals in the energy and infrastructure sector.
