Banco de Bogotá and Banco de Occidente finance concession of new Attorney General headquarters

Cuatrecasas has advised Banco de Bogotá S.A. and Banco de Occidente S.A on the financing granted to Concesionaria Nueva Fiscalía S.A.S for the construction, operation and maintenance of the new Attorney General headquarters in the city of Cali. 

The project consists of a 14-story building that will centralize all the Attorney General’s operations in Cali, representing an investment in improving the state's capacity for security, response and justice, which in turn, translates to development and progress for the city.  

Closing this transaction not only allows the firm’s clients to participate in the financing of a concession structure and social infrastructure where public and private officials intervene, but it also allows them to commit to an infrastructure project that will undoubtedly allow the citizens of Valle del Cauca to enjoy greater security and expectations of justice. 

In addition, the financing and project are entirely domestic, as the sponsor, officials, financiers and EPC contractors are Colombian entities. 

“This is one of the first social infrastructure transactions financed through a project finance scheme. Without doubt, it reflects the importance that these kind of transactions will have moving forward in Colombia, considering the specific focus on infrastructure that the sector seems to be turning to in the current context,” said Juan Carlos Puentes, the firm’s partner who led the financing.
